New Hope - So Many Blessings

By Zola ~ In preschool at New Hope in Beijing, we have circle time and sing songs and read books. The children also do a lot of crafts and painting. For this whole week we are focusing on creation, for crafts we let the children work together and put different pieces on to the paper. An example is one child puts on the felt grass and another child puts on the cotton ball clouds. On Fridays the kids always go outside and do activities in the sun.

While we went to Louyang, the British Embassy in Beijing had an “Away Day” and came to create a new playground, re-paint the memorial wall for babies that passed away since the inception of Hope, work on the landscaping, and build a chicken coop (and donated thirty chickens).

My sisters and I enjoy collecting the eggs from the chickens. Sometimes a chicken gets out of the pen and we have to get it. The eggs are delicious as we have cooked a few after gathering them minutes earlier. This morning we cooked and hosted a southern breakfast for the volunteers and nurse who are on-site this weekend.
